hi raeandrews
thanks for writing to health care magic
as you said you have family history of heart disease and you have high cholesterol level
as you are of 61 years old so should take proper care of your circulatory system it may harm you to have high cholesterol level as it deposits to your arteries and causes blockage
yoga is good for you along with this you should follow the diet restrictions by avoiding fat and cholesterol rich diet and also reduce salt intake and its time for you to have regular touch with your family doctor for regular checkup of your blood pressure etc.
i hope if you active and follow the the instructions you will be fine
hope i have helped you
take care

Ayurveda Specialist Dr. Pouse Poulose's  Response
1.Rasonadi Kashaya: Take 20 ml Kashaya (4 teaspoon) + 40 ml light Hot water and take it at 6.00 am and 5.00 pm in empty stomach. Take food only 1 hour minimum after taking kashaya.

2Arjuna Capsule:Take 1 gulika crush and mix it with kashaya and take that twice daily.

The ideal food you can have while using Ayurvedic medicine is non-spicy, non-oily, vegetarian diet.
