Headaches Starting From Jaw. MRI Came Clean. What Could Be The Reason?

My granddaughter age 23 has been having headaches for some time now. MRI was done and showed no problems She went to Dentist today as she says headaches seem to start by jaw and go up side of her face and around the head. The dentist told her it appears that the ball joint in her jaw is disintegrating.. Have you heard of this before?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. In my opinion your doctor mentioned you about temporomandibular joint disorders. Which may be due to injury, grinding or clenching of teeth, dislocation of joint over there, osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis of tmj and stress. The symptoms include the same as you mentioned above. Treatment will include according to the cause it may be surgery or medications and some precautions like eating soft food, cold packing, painkillers like ibuprofen etc. Hope this answer is helpful. Thank you.
