Headache near brain stem, shaking, brightness in vision. Family history of seizures. Serious symptoms?

I was at work today feeling a little cloudy with a slight headache in the back of my head, by my brain stem. Then my vision got really bright. As if the sun was in the room. I felt a little shaky and then became sick to my stomach . I had the same symptoms three Weeks ago and think I might have had a seizure. I m really concerned. Considering the fact my mother has high blood presser and seizures. Please let me know if this is serious.

Neurologist 's  Response
Yes definitely it could be seizure. Since it came 3 weeks ago also, you must get evaluated for this. Visit a neurologist and he will advice you the tests like MRI, EEG etc. Are your mother's seizures are of the same type? Apart from seizure, other thing tht I can think of is aura of migraine which is less likely in this case without a history of migraine.
Good luck.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Ram Choudhary's  Response
Hi Star,
Thanks for writing in to Healthcare Magic!
Your symptoms are quite alarming, they can be due to a drastic surge in BP or something more serious like some brain pathology, infection, tumor, malformation or a sensory seizure.
You should get physically examined and suitable investigation eg EEG, MRI Brain to rule out something really serious.
If you have any further query please let me know I would try to answer it for you.
Wish you a great health!
