Head Hit On Concrete, Lost Sense Of Taste, Smell, Bleeding Inside Brain. Experiencing Metallic Taste. Sign Of Improvement?

hello, I am 24 years old. my height is 5'11 and my weight is 155 lbs. I recently hit my head on the concrete on March 2013. After the incident I lost all sense of taste and smell, I had 3 different areas of bleeding inside my brain. I have been experiencing a metallic taste or mild burning smell for about 2-3 months now. Could that be a sign of improvement or should I get it checked out?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

We do not have your CT scan report to enable us to give a detailed reply.

However, it appears that the olfactory nerve (nerve involved in smell) has got damaged due to the head injury. This has resulted in loss of smell.

Recovery of this nerve may take a long time, in some cases, the recovery may not occur.

If you can upload your CT scn report, we can provide more information.
