Having yellow patches on back of throat, tongue. Is it yeast infection?

I have yellow patches on the back of my throat, on the back of my tongue , and on the roof of my mouth. My throat feels sore as it does when I have a cold. No difficulty swallowing and no fever. The patch on the back of my tongue can be scraped but the patches on my throat and roof of mouth are smooth and almost milky looking (with the exception of the yellow color). Is this yeast or strep?

Thanks for posting,
Looks more like an oral candidiasis (or oral thrush) or oral yeast infection. How ever there is a need for a doctor to examine it closely and place the difference. Other causes of your same symptoms need to be ruled out. Causes might be viral, bacterial, a symptom of an autoimmune diseases etc.
Your physician might need to do a CDx brush biopsy to confirm yeast infection or rule it out and determine other causes. Ones cause identified, appropriate antifungal regimen (nystatin ovules, fluconazole, ketokonazole etc) might be indicated to treat the yeast infection.

Hope this helps
