Having Sinus Congestion, Coughing Bouts, Fluttering In Left Ear. History Of Narcolepsy. Serious Symptoms?

Hello, I have had terrible sinus congestion and bouts of coughing for the past several months, and as of a few days ago began to experiwnce fluttering in my left ear upon burping and yawning. I was diagnosed with moderate to severe narcolepsy in 2010, which led to weight gain, diabetes, sleep apnea , and RLS . Is this fluttering dangerous to my ears? I do have some mild hearing loss as well. I am 44 years old and weight is 195. Thank you for any assistance!

Hi and thanks for the query,
Bouts of sinus congestion and cough could be knowing its not on an allergic or atopic platform. A family history of asthma, allergic rhinosinusitis or allergic conjonctivitis might be useful. The ears, throat and sinuses are all interconnected, and a lesion in one area, especially if infectious or allergic, might certainly spread and affect the other areas. blood tests to look for raised eosonophils or immunoglobulin E might be useful in ascertaining the allergic component.
The hearing symptomatology deserves the evaluation of an ENT specialist. taking an appointment with the ENT specialist is a good idea.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
