Having Sharp Pains Alternating In The Ovaries. Have A Family History Of Hysterectomy Due To Endometriosis. Should I Be Worried?

For the last three, maybe four, days I have had sharp pains, alternating in my ovaries. This happens very frequently, but usually not to the point where it feels as though my ovaries have been skewered (how it feels now). In the last two days, the pain has switched from left to right and back. My mother had a hysterectomy at 35 due to endometriosis , which worries me. (I would like to try to get to my doctor, but I work every day. (Also, I have taken a few pregnancy tests , none of which have come up positive.))

Hi swalmsle.

Thanks for your question.

You urgently do a USG LOWER ABDOMEN TO KNOW THE CAUSE-it can be PID,OVARIAN TUMOR,TORTION,ENDOMERIOSIS OR MAY BE PAIN FROM ANY OTHER ORGAN THAN OVARIES.

SO DO IT URGENTLY AND CONSULT YOUR GYNAECOLOGIST.

Best wishes
