Having Pain In Head, High Blood Pressure. Can High BP Cause Headaches?

I have a weird head pain in the right side of my head like a pressure. It is very annoying. I just found out today that I have high blood pressure which is weird because I haven t had anywhere near high blood pressure in the past. However, high blood pressure is in my family history. The weird head pain has been going on for quite sometime almost constantly. Do you think the high blood pressure is causing this head pain?
