Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the description, I feel that you could have suffered a soft tissue strain possibly a muscle catch.

The general management is as follows -

* avoid lying on the affected side
* Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours.
* Analgesic/ muscle relaxant gel application over the affected area
* moist heat fomentation to relax the muscles

Hope this information is helpful .Good day
