Having Noticed Swelling & Pain In Foot Due To The Fire Ants

I got stung 4 times yesterday around 1:00 by some fire ants. It was on my toes. My armpits and head had some hives, so I took some benadryl and they went away. However, my foot started swelling and today it seems even a little more swollen. It is pretty painful to walk on. I was wondering if I should make an appointment with a doctor or if it will eventually go down on its own.

Hello and thank you for your question. It would be a good idea for you to see a doctor if you foot continues to swell. Usually fire ant stings resolve on their own but if you foot is swelling it could be a sign of infection. Best to see a doctor and make sure. Use cool compresses on your foot in the mean time and see a doctor as soon as possible.
Thank you for using HCM.
