Having Mammary Duct Ectasia Since Ten Years. Causing Unprovoked Pain, Swelling. Infected?

i have had a mammary duct ectasia (blocked milk duct) for the past 10 years (i am 50 yrs old) it never hurt unless i pressed on it but 2 weeks ago it started causing unprovoked pain and a bit of swelling at the site. how do i know if it s infected? i have been applying warm compresses twice daily with some relief, thanks...

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
The symptoms unprovoked pain and swelling at the site are part of inflammatory reactino. Fever and redness confirms it. Get once complete hemogram to confirm infection and tyhere will be raised TC and neutrophills if bacterial infection. Get done periodic mammography. Consult your doctor for examination once and further management.
Have adequate regular sleep, plenty of fluids, nutritious diet with required calorie and regular outdoor exercises for your wellbeing. Hope I answered your question.
