Hi Doctor, I am experiencing frequent requirement of passing urine .I have to wake up 1 time in the middle of night for last 2 weeks. Even I don t have fever , I m feeling feverish. My urine doesn t have sugar. But my blood sugar level is 100 to 110mg/dl 2 months ago. My blood cholesterol level is always between 150 to 185 mg/dL. I am waiting for my aerobic C&S urine report to come. I am doing everyday running in the Trademill for 4.2 km in 30 min. Do you think I am experiencing Diabetics. If so how can I control my urinating issue. Kindly advice me.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Frequent urination can be related to infection, excess fluid intake especially too close to lying down, diabetes, problems with concentrating urine.
Infection would normally be accompanied by symptoms such as burning or discomfort on urination, urgency to pass urine. Some persons may also experience abdominal pain, fever.
Some persons drink too much fluids close to lying down and as a result have to wake frequently to go to the bathroom , in general you should try to cut off fluids at least 2 hrs prior to lying down, try not to use caffeine or some teas in the afternoon or evening period.
Diabetes would be diagnosed by performing a fasting blood sugar, a 2hr post eating blood sugar or a test calle Hba1c. The blood sugar level you quoted is not in the diabetic range.

The urine test sent off will let you know if an infection is present and you can consider adjusting your fluids if necessary.

I hope this helps

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history you are having urinary symptoms and if UTI is there that is bacteria and puss cells are there then according to culture appropriate antibiotic may be given, but if it is not due to infection then other causes must be searched you are not diabetic by this report but you can repeat the test FBS and PPBS and HbA1c.
It could be just excessive in take of fluids tea or coffee,Energy drink as they contain caffeine which is diuretic action.
Over active bladder is other possibility.
Some kind of cystitis.
If your age supports then it could be prostate problem get a USG.
If you are not diabetic and culture is negative then consult a Urologist.
Take care
Good Luck.
