Simple febrile seizure
is a benign and common event in children between the ages of 6 and 60 months. Nearly all children have an excellent prognosis.
has rightly been stopped.
Regarding valparin there is no unanimous opinion.(american academy of pediatrics not in favour)
Many doctors use only clobazam
intermittently (meaning with each episode of fever
) with good results.
My personal practice has been not to use long term regular prophylaxis therapy with valparin & instead use clobazam for 3 days with each fever episode.
