Having Excessive Hair On Hands. Is Waxing A Good Solution? Can I Wax My Hands, Legs And Underarm?

Hi, my name is Minnu Varghese. I m 14 years old. I m an Indian. I been having a lot of hair in my hands because i accidently shaved it when i was young. My mom wont let me wax because firstly, my mom thinks that no doctors would suggest to wax at this age and only until they are 18+ secondly, my friend usually wax her hands and legs for the past year. she s 13 and a half. she waxed a month ago and she burned her. she use to use strips but she all of a sudden changed to cream which resulted in burning her hand. but she does continue waxing even after burning her hand. cna i wax my hand, leg and underarm

Hi...dear minnuva..,
Thanks for choosing HCM..,
Waxing of body hairs are not advisable for Ur age..,

These are harmless, and most of the partners..(Boyfriends).,

The other techniques are rude and given problems..,

Dentist Dr. Bibhu Dutt Nanda's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM forum,
first of all i would like to break the myth that shaving your hair makes them thick, it does not, in fact shaving is better than waxing. shaving cuts the hair which regrows after a week and the edge of the hair is sharp which gives an illusion of being thick.
using hair removing creams can harm your skin in many ways, as you mentioned about your friend getting a burn.
nowadays, laser hair reduction treatments are available in a number of clinics, you can ask your mother to take you to a dermatologist and get the lasers done for your arms and legs, it is painless procedure, done under the supervision of doctors.
else, you can wax your hair , from a hygienic center.
i wish you good health.

General Surgeon Dr. Rajat Gupta's  Response
hi minnu

The answer to your problems lies in laser treatment for hair reduction.
Waxing may cause burning of your skin.
You can easily find any dermatologist or plastic surgeon near your place who can guide you through laser therapy

hope this helps
