If the vaginal swab testing resulted negative for bacteria, I should ask about other parameters (yeast cells, etc.).
Next, apart genital infection
, I would also recommend to do an urine analysis. Urinary tract infection
are often associated with vaginal infection
Having clear slimy, stringy discharge might be also associated with :
- ovulation period
- allergic reaction
to latex (when condoms are used) or other chemicals used while sexually involved
- wearing inappropriate underwear (non-cottony, tight, etc.)
I advise to keep a good vaginal hygiene and to discuss with your OG specialist about using local (vaginal) suppositories. Your partner should be also tested and treated as well.
