Having Central Serous Retinopathy In Eyes. Pain In Eyes, Head, Can See Flashing Lights. Solution?

sir, i have got csr problem on both left and right eye, and first time i got csr problem on 1996 and at that time i almost lost my right eye vision , and was seeing 70% by left eye but again i got the same problem 1 year back in left eye and it got cured automatically and again now i am having same prb not able to see properly and my eye and head is paining a lot and it seems as if lisght is flashing and feeling vry anxiety and tension and not sleeping also please help what to do

Dear Priya,Hi,CSR as you know is called central serous retinopathy or in simple terms accumulation of fluid in the central part of the retina due to leakage of the fluid from choriod as there is a breach in retinal pigment epithelium of retina.In majority of cases 90%resolve in six months period and get a good vision.It basically occurs in type 1 personality people who take stress.Cortisol hormone and some drugs also play a role in causing it.I believe you need to be evaluated by a retinal surgeon who would do a FFA and OCT and see the leakage points.You may require laser or photodynamic therapy accordingly.Don 't take too much stress as it precipitates CSR and show an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.Depending on your clinical examination and investigational finding he may decide to observe or do the treatment.TC...dr Ajay Shankar Kar
