Hello,
thanks for using health care magic.

Gastro-esophageal reflux disease results when the sphincter preventing back flow of food from the stomach is weakened and acidic food leaves the stomach to the esophagus. Permanent cure depends on the cause and could be surgical but life style modification could in many instances be the only required treatment.
Risk factors for GERD include;
Obesity
Hiatal hernia
Pregnancy
Smoking
Diabetes
Delayed stomach emptying etc.

Life style modification include:
Avoiding alcohol, spicy, fatty or acidic foods because they trigger heartburn
Fraction meals or eat in smaller quantities
avoid eating close to bedtime
Reducing weight if over weight or obese
Ganaton contain the active ingredient itopride which is a relatively new drug not approved in many develop countries and there is little known on its effects. However, it is in the same class of a drug call cisapride which was banned for use in many countries because its effect on the heart.
However, it is use in many other countries and it acts as a prokinetic drug to move ingested substances thorugh the gut. esomeprazole helps to control the acid production and both drugs will help in controlling your symptoms but would not be a definite cure for you.

Hope this helps you. If you have further query, i will be ready to help.
