Have White Coat Pressure. Endoscopy Done. Gastric, Gerd Found. Pain In Chest, Arm, Neck. Why?

hellow doctor, im male 35, height 174cm 77.1 kg ( used to be 102kg with high cholestrol level ), non smoker, non drinker, no diabties, no family heart problem history, have white coat pressure (normal house pressure).
Problem started this year april with gerd. Did endoscope they found gastric problem and gerd. Doctor gave anti acid, later started to have chest pain, left arm pain, neck pain left side more like 1 nerves pain. some time the pain comes at center of chest left side, some time right side. Doctor say stress, so i started to loose weight with exercise and diet. Still have pains so when to cardic doctor, did ecg, stress test came normal and my cholestrol level went good from bad. But still have pain on of (back pain, chest pain can pin point the pain why?

Thanks for writing in.

Your pain can be explained by the GERD itself. GERD can cause pain similar to chest pain of cardiac origin. As you have got tests like ECG and stress induced cardiac assessment done and results are normal, there is no need to worry.

What happens is that as acid formation in stomach increases, it causes burning in the stomach and esophagus. This sensation is carried by sensory nerves to the brain. Surprisingly, the nerves are inter connected and the pain is perceived to be coming from the chest, arm and neck regions in many people. You might be one among them and there is no need to worry.

Please take your GERD medication on empty stomach in the morning 30 mins before brushing teeth and half and hour before meals if taken during the day. That way it will give best results.

Take medications to control your cholesterol regularly. Also maintain a healthy diet and fitness plan.
