Have Ulcerative Colitis. Am Tapering Off Prednisol. On Phenol. Even After Tapering Off Prednisolone Continue Tacrolimus. Prevent Peptic Ulcer?
Hi, I am a patient of ulcerative colitis ( IBD) and hemmorroids and have been taking 40 mgms prednisol for 3 weeks and 2.5 mgms tacrolimus daily. I am currently tapering off prednisol and am on 25 mgm of prednisol once a day. i have also taken a shot of almond-oil based 5 per cent phenol for hemmhorroids 2 weeks ago. and my piles are under control now. I was also given 1 bottle of blood and 1200 mgms of iron Intravenously 3 weeks ago for low hemoglobin (7.2) .My specialist has advised me to continue with tacrolimus for one year even after tapering off prednisolone. Can pantocid prevent drug-induced peptic ulcer? If so, how much pantocid should I continue to take?
