Have Swollen Tonsil And Lump On Right Of Throat. Hurts To Swallow. Serious?

Hi. I seem to have a swollen tonsil on the right side. Just bumpy and very red. Also I have a lump onthe right side of my throat. Doesnt hurt when I touch it but it seems pretty solid. Just the right side of my throat hurts when I swallow and my lymph node also seem to be swollen. I have had this for a few days now bur my lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen for a couple weeks. I cant get to a doctor for a few days is this a common infection or more serious? I am 25 yrs old

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I read your query regarding swollen and painful tonsil on right side of throat which hurts to swallow and you are also having enlarged lymph nodes on neck.

After listening your complaints it appears as most likely you are having quinsy with cervical lymphadenitis. But as you said that you noticed neck lymph nodes for about last two weeks while lump on right side of throat is for a week only this put suspition to think about neoplasm as well.

You may take these medicines for a week-

(1) Antibiotic.

(2) Anti inflammatory.

(3) Antiseptic mouth wash and gargling.

If you don't get satisfactory relief by above treatment than consultation with ENT specialist will become necessary to get better care.
