hi, i normally get a small hard lump on my labia but it normally goes away within a week or so but this week i have one thats very swollen roughly 1cm by 2cm its extremely sensitive to touch its even causing me pain to walk, its very red and shiny to discharge of any sort, but it now has a small weeping bleed , the past couple of days i have been cleaning it and puting antiseptic cream on it (which has helped with the friction of walking) im healthy in all other ways except having asthma and im 22yo and not currently sexually active

Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

Lump on labia can be caused due to many reasons like infection and clogging of the sebacious glands ( hair follicles ), ingrown hairs and infection due to improper or frequent shaving, use of chemical deodrants/lotions, genital warts, sebacious or bartholin cysts, genital herpes, abscess, etc.

1. Get clinically assessed, you need to undergo vaginal swab tests, blood tests to rule out sexually transmitted diseases.
2. Take analgesics for pain, you need antibiotics. Antibacterial creams can help. In case it is a cyst, you may need to undergo a minor surgery, drainage in case of pus or abscess.
3. Avoid sex, take care of your hygiene. Wash the genital area with warm water, do not scratch.
4. If STD is detected, get treated. Get your partner treated also. If painful genital herpes is detected, you need acyclovir. Consult a doctor and a counselor.

Take care
