Have Stress Induced Diabetics. Taking Jalra, Amaryl And Volix. How To Bring Down PP Sugar?

Sir , I am a type 2 diabetic for the last 16 years and I have been maintaining good control with medication. Neither my father or my mother is a diabetic and I am diagonised as stress induced sedantory diabetic. Suddenly in the last 5 months my sugar levels are not under control. My hba1c was 9.0 and my fasting sugar was consistently in the range of 170. Now I had undergone thorugh blodd profile and all other parametrers are normal. Dr has prescribed 8 units of insullin at bed time. my fasting sugar has come to down to 87 in a weeks time. My post prandial sugar is still high around 190. I am taking Jalra M50+500, amaryl M2 and Volix 0.3 in the morning and in the night. I am taking amaryl M2 20 minutes before breakfast and dinner, volix 0.3 along with the first bowl of food and Jalra M50+500 after 20 minutes after food. Is it right time to take the foods. What you suggest for bringing down the PP sugar. I walk for 70 minutes and walk close to 6 km daily. please help

Diabetologist 's  Response
hi
first - wishing u a happy new year
and welcome to our site

read your query
that is a very significant question
and i appreciate your problem

i will try my best to answer your query

i would suggest that when you are on insulin
start insulin all over
abd thereby get a better medicine and control
with the option to change doses yourself
you could try the mixture insulin
that would control better
and is to be taken only twice a day

in your query you have not mentioned it
but i am hoping you are on strict diabetic diet
i would suggest you try this insulin i told you about
the dose needs adjustment of course

try fbs ppbs within 10 days of starting mixtard insulin
i am sure you will find a better control

and get am hba1c again with lipid profile and tsh in 3 months

i would also suggest sr cortisol once
sometimes that plays havoc on diabetics in stress too

i hope this helps you
inform the reports mentioned above
so i can be of help further
best of luck

(please do understand that some problem remains as
online texting cuts down history and examination
thereby reducing the effect and efficiency
and increases reliance on tests)
