Have Stage 3 Emphysema. Taking Medicine. Applying Lotion For Dry Skin. What's Going On?

I am 62 and have stage 3 COPD /Emphysema. I take about 12 different meds each day. I have extremely dry skin and apply on my hands and forearms mulitple times a day to help releave the dryness. It does not help past the first 5-8 minutes after application of lotion. What can I do to help myself with this on going problem

Dry skin and scaling is sometimes associated with Emphysema especially in alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency emphysema. Ask your doctor to check for alpha 1 antitrypsin levels.
