Have Sharp Pain Between Ribs. Diagnosed With Costochondritits. Treatment?

Hi, I suddenly had a sharp stabbing pain between my ribs on my left hand side, about three up from the bottom. I have been to the hospital for an X- ray no broken bones, been to doctors who gave me painkillers to take throughout the day, which haven't helped. They say in is costochondritits. I have took all the advice to take things easy and relax. After 6 weeks of feeling uncomfortable and stabbing pains it is now depressing as nothing seems to be working. I work at school with small children but have been unable to go because of the pain, can anybody tell me how long does it last ?

Hello.Costochondritis is a pathology whose symptoms can last various months. ¿What treatment are you taking?.The most recommended treatment is antiinflammatories drugs.Diclofenac 50 mg thrice a day,for example is widely used in the treatment of Costochondritits.Go to your doctor to examine you again and review the drug you're taking for pain.
