Have Rheumatoid Arthritis. On Methotrexate, Predisone. Lab Test Shows AST, ALT. Have Bloating In Abdomen. Are My Levels Dangerously High?

I have rheumatoid arthritis and am currently on a regimen of methotrexate 10 mg weekly, along with predisone 7 mg daily. My last lab results identified AST 51 and ALT 75. Rheumatologist indicated rather than every 8 weeks, I need to have labs done every 4 weeks. Are my levels dangerously high? As well, could these high levels be the reason I have such bloating in my abdomen?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
The normal level of AST & ALT is usually 5-50 I U .
So in your case the level is high but in mild degree & non specific, don't bother about that.
As you mentioned in your query that there is bloating in stomach.
This may be due to methotraxate and prednisolone , so consult your doctor and get in pantoprazole type antacid .
Alternatively , you can take antacid syrup.
