General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,

From what you describe, the infection should be bacterial and superficial. Generally, skin infections are caused by Staphylococcus aureus, a germ that lives on the skin. Treatment certainly involves hygiene, antibiotics and analgesics in case of pain. The duration and dosage of drugs shall depend mainly on the severity of the disease.

It is important to be sure that this lesions are not from another source and a general appreciation of the clinical state to ensure adequate and appropriate medication. I still strongly think you need to visit your primary care physician for a general examination and management.

Thanks and best regards,

Bain LE, MD.
