Have Nightmares, Making Strange Noises In Sleep. Solution?

My mom who is 78 yrs of age now, often has scary dreams and maks wierd noises during sleep sometimes very scary noises too. Can help me in finding a solution to it.
This has been happening since i guess 10 yrs or so. however my dad past away -due to illness at the age of 84 yrs in March 2012 and recently my brother who was 52 yrs passed away due to throat cancer last July 2013.
to be frankly speaking my mom is very bold and worked hard throughtout her life.

Hello user,
You are advised to have first of all thorough ENT examinations of your mother, to rule out any mass lesion in throat, which might be causing the weird sound by her during night.

You can also use some behavioral therapy like wake her up when she starts noise, do it for 4-5 times, then she might stop creating noises.

You can also try sleep medicines, but with caution, and with prior consult from a physician, to let her go in nice sleep.
