Have Hematoma In Face. Taking Ibuprofen, Applied Cold Compress. What To Do?

I got my wisdom teeth out at about 8:00 pm on Monday and my left side of the face is a pretty tiny hematoma...But the right is like a golfball sized hematoma. And kinda hurts. I'm taking 3, 200mg ibuprofens every six house about! This morning because I didn't prop my head up while I slept I woke up and it felt the most swolen it ever has. I've been applying a cold compress since after the procedure.
all the time...at least as fast as I can freeze it again...what I'm wondering is what can I do to make it go down faster. I've heard after 72 hours I should start using moist heat on my face so that the old blood in there can be absorbed

Hello,
Thanks for using health care magic for posting your query.
After removing a molar, you do have a swelling around your angle of jaw. But you never have a hematoma. If there is a hematoma and that too a hematoma which is visible from the skin, then there is surely a problem.
A hematoma which is increasing in size needs medical attention and you should see your dentist soon.
The pain persists for 6-7 daysbut instead of takingahuge dose of a single pain killer like 3,200mg of ibuprofen, it is good that you mis them with other painkillers like diclofenac, paracetamol and reduce the dose of ibuprofen that you are taking.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
