Have Foul Smelling Breath. Prescribed Nexium And Prilosec For Reflux. What To Do?

For years I have had to deal with hot poop smelling breath. I have mentioned this problem to my dentist he says he doesnt smell anything and that I have one of the cleanest mouths he's ever seen. I've mentioned to my PCP and she says she doesnt smell anything either. I mentioned to her when I talk people step back from me and start saying they're hot or they offer me gum, water, or mints. My PCP says thats mean and that every living person has hot breath. Now the new thing is a gassy smell in the air and my husband is always asking me if I've passed gas. I can't smell my breath but the smell of passed gas I do smell. It smells like rotten eggs and thats usally when I've gone too long without eating. I've also gone to an ENT he diagnosed me with reflux and prescribed nexium but that irritated my stomach really bad then he prescribed prilosec. Neither have really helped. People still avoid sitting next to me everywhere I go or they're always saying they're so thirsty for water when I start talking or they crank up the ac really high in my prescence. What can the problem be and what else can I do? I'm unemployed now so I need a natural remedy if there is one.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Usually bad breath is associated with poor oral hygiene, improper brushing, patients under prolonged use of medications, poor immunologic habits, respiratory disorders, sinusitis.
I would suggest you to go for a thorough dental and physical examination.
Get decayed tooth restored if any.
Use antiseptic mouthwash rinses, soft interdental tooth brush, dental floss.
Replace toothbrush in every 3-4 months.
Clean your teeth after every meal.
Take complete balanced diet and drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.
Get your blood sugar levels checkedto rule out any chance of diabetes.

Hope this helps out.

Regards..

Hi
Welcome to HCM forum
Bad smell is generally due to improper oral hygiene but in your case it is not like that.
It can also be the signs of an infection of the stomach or intestines.
Improper eating patterns such as eating heavy meals that are high in protein and sugar .
you could stay away from Sweet potatoes, Garlic, Onions, Tomatoes, protein, peas, beans.
Take plenty of water, herbal drinks, high fiber diet.
The best remedy to get rid of such bad smell is to drink glass of warm water with honey and lemon first thing every morning.
Maintain oral hygiene and use tongue cleaner regularly.
Hope you get cure soon
Take care

hi...
thanks for the query...
halitosis has many reasons... it can be of dental origin or ENT problems or may be due to any systemic disease also...
you go for complete oral prophylaxis first (scaling and root planing) and then maintain your oral hygiene by yourself by brushing twice daily after meals...
also keep your tongue clean by scrapping of the debris over it... because it also harbors micro organisms and can cause bad breath...
if you have acid reflux, then have antacids for that...
also go for physical examination also... for diagnosis of metabolic disease... if any...
hope it will help you...
take care...
