Have Elongated Cervix And Migraines. Hysterectomy Scheduled. Reason?

Hello
I'm due surgery on the 12th aug - hysterectomy, front and rear vaginal wall rebuild, I'm 45.
On the referral letter it mentioned an elongated cervix, why would this have happened ? It's never been mentioned previously ??
I recently suffered some severe migraines that ended up being similar to a stroke and I was admitted to hospital, I had the mirena coil at the time but it was due a replacement, the new seems to have stopped the migraines.
Once I have had the hysterectomy I will no longer have the coil, obviously, so will the migraines come back ? (I'm keeping my ovaries)
I'm also worried that I will not be able to get physically fit after the surgery as my job role requires an enhanced level of fitness (police officer). It's all very concerning.
Many thanks,
Ly

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Endometriosis is a condition in which endometrial glands and stroma are present outside the uterus.
The most common site for endometriosis are ovaries.
It is associated with pain and menstrual irregularities.
However, endometriosis or mirena coil insertion do not have any relation with migraine.

The elongation of cervical lips may be age related.
As age increases the the tone of pelvic muscles and muscles of vaginal wall weaken
This weakness and loss of tone is more common in multiparous women (women who have given multiple births).
This loss of tone can cause the cervical lips to descent slowly.
This is not a serious issue.

Rebuild of anterior and posterior vaginal wall will help to restore the position of the cervix.
You need to consult your physician for migraine problem.
It is not associated with mirenal coil, endometriosis, or hystrectomy procedure.

Thanks and take care
