Have Dupuytren S Contracture With Cord On Right Pinkie Finger. No Help From Hand Surgeon. Consulting Doctor Of Other Speciality Advised?

I have dupuytren's contracture with a cord on my right pinkie finger. I visited a hand surgeon twice at Wake Forest Physicians who said he was requesting certification from my insurance provider, CIGNA. I've never heard back from him and have since found out from CIGNA that the surgeon never requested certification. Is the treatment too difficult or am I being treated as a nuisance? Should I be consulting a doctor of another specialty?
