As you have mentioned,you got your teeth root-canal treated and not put crown after that.
During the root canal
procedure,the entire infected pulp within the tooth is removed,thereby the tooth becomes nonvital and thereby brittle.
Its better to place crown over root-canal treated teeth.
As the teeth is non-vital its ability to withstand masticatory forces is less.
Therefore chances of rc treated teeth getting fractured is very high.
