Have Diabetes And Blood Pressure. Chest Heaviness After Meals. Done Angioplasty. Can You Help?

Hi my dad is 74 years old is a diabetic and pressure patient. Over two weeks ago he felt whenever he ate as if the food was in the chest area and did not move later he felt pain. Subsequently he was diagonised of two blocks. The left artery completely blocked and was calcified the other was 75% blocked. He has undergone angioplasty on 20 March. Thought the pain the chest does not occur, he still feels as if after eating the food is still in the chest area. Can you advise in this regard please.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi there.

Any patient with heart disease and recent intervention with such symptoms must be taken back to his/ her Cardiologist to rule out possibility of re-block / procedural fault or something like that. It can be just food pipe pain but you should not take risk and hence do not delay taking him back to the doctor. Make sure your father is taking all his medications prescribed by the doctor , especially full doses of aspirin and clopidogrel. All the best.
