Have Deep Cut On Finger, Painful, Cannot Completely Extend Finger. Worried
My son substained a very deep cut on his third finger of his right hand last week. He went to emergency room and they put several stiches, after they felt like the tendon or artery had not been cut. They referred him to a hand specialist which he saw today. Specialist, they said they will keep watching for a week to see if he will need hand surgery. He still has a lot of pain and can not completely extend his finger. What does he need to know. of course he is worried about his hand and the possibility of surgery. Can you help.
Pain of the hand and unable to extend the fingers is clearly due to demage to the nerve endings and tendons.medicines will work to relieve from pain only temporary but not permanent.nerve injuried should be repaired and tendons should be released .this is done by only hand surgeon.it will take long time to come to normal stage
