Have Cysts In Ears, Painful, Swelling, Itching. What Is This?

I have been having problems with my ears for quite some time now. I ve had my ears pierced for years but rarely wear earrings. I get little cysts in my piercings and bigger ones that are easily popped in the fold behing my ears. A few days ago I popped a very painfull cyst and now a gland?? Is swollen and hard belowdecks ear behind my jaw line, and my entire ear lobe is swollen and itchy. The same exact thing happened 2 weeks ago on the other ear. What is this?

Hello
Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.
I have gone through your query regarding small cystic lump in ear lobule and followed by swelling in ear lobule and painful enlarge node behind the ear.
I would like to tell you that small lump in ear at piercing site may be-
(1) Keloid.
(2) Sebaceous cyst
I think you are having Keliod because your lumps are on both side were near the piercing point which is in favor of Keloid on the other hand sabeceous cyst is unlikely to be bilateral. The keliod gets infected thus your ear lobule became swollen and draining lymph node behind the ear near the angle of jaw get enlarge and painful.
As far as treatment is concern you should take antibiotic, anti inflammatory, drugs and to contact surgeon to remove it , and simultaneously use of anti scaring cream locally to avoid recurrence of it.

With Regards.
