Have Cough And Copper Taste In Mouth. Have Copd, Emphysema, High BP And Alphal Antitryipsin. On Medication. What To Do?

Fir the last 3 to 4 days I have smelled ammonia and had the taste of copper in my mouth. My coughs are bad due to having copd and emphysema. I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure and Alpha1 Antitryipsin and was on Aralast for that. Could my respritory problems be causing this awful taste and smell. ALSO I am running a slight fever and was wondering if this could be a sign of pneumonia

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum.
Thanks for calling H.C.M.Forum.
Since 4 days you had smell of ammonia, and taste of copper, in the mouth ,with cough, you also have C.O.P.D., emphysema, high blood pressure. alpha 1 antitrypsin and was on aralast, for that. Running slight fever.
the taste appears to be due to the purulant sputum in the lungs, it is a some what diffecult to treat condition, as it is a lower respiratory infection, and B.P. and C.O.P.D. cause it difficult for recovery.
I advise you to consult a chest physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have M.R.I. besides other routine tests of respiratoy tract for confirmation.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery .
Best regards.
