Have Constipation, Hemorrhoids. Feel Bloated After Meals. Passed Some Tissue Like Material In Stool. What Is It?

I have noticed what appears to be tissue in my stools for the last few years. I do have constipation problems and hemorrhoids as well, and they even bleed sometimes. I also have bad gas and get bloated even after small meals. I have often thought I may have IBS or Chrones disease. Yesterday I was constipated so bad for the last 3 days that I gave myself a home enema. It did work and of course my hemorrhoid suffered the consequences. Just a little while ago tonight, I thought I had to make a bowel movement. After i thought I went, I looked to see and it was very light, almost skin colored. I looked closer and it was not feces at all. I took a pencil and moved it round. It was an entire handful of the same tissue, I swear intestine like looking material I normally see in my stool. But it has never been this much ever before and it has scared me to death! What is this?

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

From the information provided, you are apparently suffering from either.

* Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Constipation type). Bulky stool agents, high fiber diet, such as, psyllium husk 20gms twice a day; laxatives will help. If you have mental stress, anti-anxiety drugs will be of great help.

* Inflammatory Bowel disease, such as Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis

* polyps or a growth in the intestine.

In the last two conditions, inner lining of the intestine; or pieces of ulcerated polyps/growth, sometimes degenerate, get detached and passed in stools.

Hemorrhoids with frequent bleeding is due to straining as a result of persistent constipation. Relief of constipation will reduce the frequency of bleeding.

IN ANY CASE, YOU SHOULD UNDERGO COLONOSCOPY to directly visualize the inside of Colon and give valuable input about the exact cause of your problems.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable treatment as advised.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE all doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Fond regards and have a nice day
