Have Cold With Green Discharge And Congested Nose. Remedy?

Hi, My name is Neha Singh. I have had a teribble cold for the past three days, with green discharge . Every time I lie down, my nose gets congested and I find it difficult to breathe. I also have this pain above my right eyebrow. I had my wisdom tooth extracted a week back and I am not sure if its related in any way. I have been blowing my nose for 3 days now and its the worst kind of cold i have ever had. Can you please help?

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regardin cold with green discharge and headache over forehead. You are having nasal obstruction as well and all these symptoms indicates that you are having acute Rhinosinusitis.

For effective treatment you are advice for these basic investigations-
(1) C.T.scan of paranasal sinuses.
(2) Culture and sensitivity of nasal discharge.
(3) Blood - CBC, blood sugar - R. & P.P.
(4) Urine - Routine & microscopic.

Apart from this tharough examination along with co-relation of investigation results we can reach to correct diagnosis which lateron can be plan for treatment. Till investigation reports are awaited you can take antibiotic, anti inflammatory, anti allergic, decongestant and steam inhalation.
