Have Cold Sweat, Vomiting And Dizziness. Had Drank Beer And Smoked. Reason?

Hi, today I nearly fainted ( I mean, I felt really dizzy, I couldn t orientate and finally I fell on my back, but without losing my counciuse), I felt cold sweats and I felt like vomiting and I did after I got up from the floor. I was in a pub, and I drank half a glass of beer but I did smoke half a pack of smokes in one hour and a half. Some guy from there that is a med student told me that I have a lack of proteins - i mention that i m a lacto-vegetarian.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I am glad your first stop was at a forum for health care like this one. You acknowledge that you have a problem with alcohol and nicotine. Dependence on these chemicals is common and sometimes it get to the point where there is not just psychological dependence where you cannot stop thinking about it but you also have physical dependence where your body gets acclimatized to the substance and you cannot do without it. I would advise that you see a substance abuse counselor and get help with consulting a psychiatrist for hospitalization for deaddiction from alcohol. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day !

General & Family Physician Dr. Gustav Gous's  Response
Hallo, this sounds like a vaso-vagal attack. There are many possible causes, but taking a cold drink including beer on an empty stomach can trigger such an attack. Smoking also increases your risk through its adverse effect on your gastro-intestinal tract. I suggest you see a doctor for a thorough medical screen, including blood tests for metabolic screen. Obviously smoking and drinking are detrimental to your health and you should attempt to discontinue these habits.
