Have Bilateral Pleural Effusion With PluerX Drains, Loosing 700 Cc Per Week. What Could Be Reason?

I have a bilateral pleural effusion with pluerX drains. Present on R.side for 9 mos. and now on L side. No cause can be found and it is a transudate. All Ca tests and bacterial tests negative. I am losing 700 cc per week which is very debilitating. Any ideas?

Dear Friend,

There are a number of causes for transudate pleural effusion.
It can be related to your heart , kidneys , and a lot more causes.

I advise you to please show us reports of your pleural fluid analysis. Also to get Liver function tests , Kidney function tests and ultrasound abdomen.
