Have Belly Pain. Ultrasound Shows Fibroid. Causing Discomfort?

I have a pain/ache in the lower left quandrant of my belly area. This radiates to my back. I am 71 years old, and have been treated by my gyn doctor....after an ultrasound, I am told that I have a small fibroid. Could this be causing the discomfort that I am feeling? Or, should we be looking for something else. I have a good appetite, have been dieting to loose some weight (less carbs mainly)...Am very active...walk and play 9 holes of golf about 3 times a week. Am feeling OK otherwise. I have some concern of cervical cancer.

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

Pain in left lower quadrant may occur in fibroid. I hope you don't have any bowel symptoms as you haven't mentioned. You should revisit your Gynae doctor for further management.
