Have an upper cervical polyp. Is it necessary to remove before IVF?

I have an upper cervical polyp .4 mil and my fertility doctor first said not to worry, it was no problem. In preparation for IVF he now says he prefers that I have the polyp removed. The fertility doctor is located out of state so I have to go to my local gyn for removal. They want to schedule a hysteroscopy for the removal. If I choose not to have this polyp removed, can it interfer with IVF?
