Have A Weber B Fracture. How Long Will It Take To Heal? Is It Safe To Remove The Cast After 10 Days?

I have a weber b fracture . I had surgery to have a plate screwed in place to help the healing process and make sure the bone healed in the right place. I had a cast on for 10 days - then stitches removed and an aircast put on. Is it ok to remove the aircast off my leg? I have got tinnia between my toes so I need to treat that before it gets worse, there if I take the cast off I can get my wife to treat the tinnia. Is that ok?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
You had a weber B fracture, and had cast for 10 days, and now you had air cast for support. You want to remove.
Leg especially the ankle, is the most important part to make you stand, and for the fractures of the lower limb, minimum rest required is 8 weeks, means 56 days.
Though plates are there they help the bone to heal, but don't act as a substitute to the bone.
Once it is wrongly attached, form mal union or non union.and cause continuous pain on movement, to treat that you have to get operated again, by breaking the bone and putting the caste again.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
