Have Parkinson's Disease. Pain In Rib Cage And Back. Prescribed Hydrocodone. Any Ideas?

I am an elderly ( 72) female with Parkinson's. For the past two weeks I have had an agonizing pain that literally makes me scream. It has moved from the middle of my back to my right side to under my right arm. Today it is in my left rib cage amd is moving to my back. It's incapacitating and probably as painful as anything I've experienced in my life. I called my neurologist who gave me a prescription for hydrocodone which takes the edge off the pain for a little while but I can't live on it. It's tearing up my stomach. Any ideas?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the rib cage and the back is likely to be due to an inflammation in the area or arthritis. This usually subsides on taking the mild pain killers like you have been prescribed and a hot fomentation.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
