Have IBS, Bloating, Constipation. History Of Appendix Rupture, Gall Bladder Removal, HysterectomyD

I'm 49 and have had IBS for most of my life, but have had more trouble with bloating and constipation for the last several months. My appendix ruptured, causing scar tissue when I was 25. I've also had my gallbladder removed and have had a hysterectomy because of endo leaving only one ovary on my left. In the past I had more issues with diarrhea, but the constipation along with left side pain is really bothering me. Do you think I should see a gastorenterologist or gynecologist since the pain is on the left lower and upper side? Maybe it is more scar tissue...help!

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

This is either GYN or GI related. I would call your OB/GYN and ask for an exam and an ultrasound. If these are both normal, then have them refer you to a GI specialist. If they do a colonoscopy that is normal, then a laparoscopy to look for scar tissue or residual endometriosis would be indicated.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
