Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
Yes, your SGPT is indeed raised. But, your
alkaline phosphatase is also close to the upper limit (i.e. 120). SGPT is an important enzyme in assessing
liver damage, but it can also be raised in a few other conditions. As you have not mentioned any relevant medical history, it is difficult to comment much. But let me list the conditions in which we can see a raised SGPT. They are:
-Liver disease/disorders (eg.
viral fever,
infectious mononucleosis,
hepatitis, alcohol-induced conditions, pancreatic diseases, etc.)
-Muscle injury (accidents, etc.)
-
Myocardial infarction (i.e. heart attack; but not in acute stages)
-Medication (eg. cocaine, etc.)
-Acute kidney failure
-
Cholesterol lowering drugs
If you can relate to any of the above mentioned details, then this rise in SGPT levels is normal. You need not worry about it.
But, if you cannot relate to any of these conditions, then wait for 7-14 days and recheck your liver function lest (LFT), which will include all these parameters. If there is a rise in SGPT and other parameters, you will have to consult a doctor. If there is drop in SGPT levels, then you can rest.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
