Has Severe Knee Pain, Unable To Stand. Further Treatment?
Hi my mother has severe knee pain for the past 2 weeks. She at times is unable to stand due to the pain. Can you suggest what the best options here are? Do I have to take her to a well known hospital (if so which one) or do I take her for acupuncture? What according to you would resolve this passion for good? Any informative reply would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi, From history it seems that your mother might have some degenerative changes in her knee joint and might be having osteoatheritis. Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined. X ray knee joint will give more precise view regarding her problem. After examination plan of treatment can be decided. Physiotherapy will be of great value. Meanwhile give her some NSAID tablets for pain. I think acupuncture has no value in this problem. Avoid squating position or do not bend her knee more than 90 degree. Ok and take care.
