Has Muscular Degenerative Can Hardly See But Hallucinating Many Things. Suggest?

My mom has musclar degenertative (not spelled right). Lately she has been seeing things such as trees, people, etc. This has become very scary for her as she can hardly see anyway. She is not able to read and now is becoming where she can't see tv without seeing all these visions. She has been declared legally blind. She is 75 years of age. Can you tell me what is happening and why she is seeing things? Thanks, Deborah

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The hallucinations that she is having is not related to the muscular degeneration itself. It can be due to the side effects of the medications that she is taking, depression, dementia, etc.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
