Hi I have a question regarding a patient that has a moderate flat SNHL to the left and s severe SNHL to the right with a 10 -15 dB asymmetry. They are returning to India (Punjab) in January and they have questions regarding a possible Cochlear Implant (CI) to the right. Are CI implanted at this facility, what are your candidacy protocols, and what are the activation and follow up procedures post CI implantation requirements Look forward to your response Sincerely AAAAAA

Yes, cochlear implants are done in India. Many private and government hospitals provide this facility. Since the patient is from Punjab, they can contact the ENT department at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh which provides this facility and is a renowned government hospital. The candidacy protocol and the post-implantation procedures and requirements can be discussed with the doctor after the consultation. Alternatively you can write to the department head for details. The email address is available on the institute website.
