your son seems to be sufferring from heart failure with severe systolic( pumping) dysfunction..

As you are saying that this has been diagnosed only 1 month before, cause of failure is important to tell about prognosis and treatmant modalities.

usual pump failure cases are treated with diuretics( lasix, aldactone), digoxin, B blocker, ace inhibitor .
In certain cases CRT is useful, and if all modality are failed final treatment is heart transplant.
In some cases like viral myocarditis this failure is reversible also

therefore you consult a cardiologist and he will explain you according the cause.

good luck
